Fear of Flying

Tomorrow I fly by myself for the first time. I wish it was on this plane.

Who Needs a Kwik-E-Mart?

I do! Lissa only told me today that there is a Kwik-E-Mart in Maryland. Considering we only had a week left before it turned back into a 7-11 and that I will be out of town next weekend, we made the hour trek up to PG county. We bought Squishees (with commemorative cups), Buzz Cola and a pink sprinkled donut. The cashier even said "Thank you come again," after handing us the receipt. Lissa couldn't believe that he said that and started giggling uncontrollably. If you are in the Metro area, do yourself a favor and go!

Hidden Gems

Apparently, this beautiful work of art has been in our neighborhood for years and none of us ever noticed! How is this possible? Whoever created this, you are a very talented artist!

Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before

Last night I was making food for our Fourth of July party when I heard a familiar lyric on MTV Hits. "Stop me, oh oh oh, stop me..." was being sung against a funky beat. "Sounds like my favorite Smiths song," I thought. Then I heard "I was delayed I was waylayed..." It was the Smiths' song' but it obviously wasn't Morrissey singing. I ran over to the TV to check it out. It was some bloke wearing a James Joyce Dubliners shirt (haha...get it?) singing in a bar while a good looking dude was walking around a city where people were crying a lot of cartoon tears. I was little taken back because like, who would cover the Smiths? That band Snake River Conspiracy but anyways.
At the end of the video I saw that it was Daniel Merriweather featuring Mark Ronson! I was no longer upset once I realized it was my number 1 DJ crush. Good job, Mark. You took very good care of my favorite summer song. I WILL be buying your album especially since I heard Alex Greenwald is on it but that is another story for another time.
