Eagle vs. Shake

My best friend sent me a link to the best movie trailer I have seen in a long time and I just had to share. From the preview, "Eagle vs. Shark" looks like it has the perfect amount of quirk and humor to become my new favorite film.

Please check out the trailer here:

And the offical website here (so colorful!): http://www.eaglevsshark.net/

If you are disappointed, bite me.

The Worst Four Year of Your Life

If the scanner at work was hooked up, you would currently be reading about high school kids today being much cooler than I was and am today. Hopefully, I will be getting my own scanner soon and can post those Polaroids.

I have had high school on the brain a lot lately. Most likely because we've been playing shows with high school bands that are better than us. I also wrote a song inspired by Sixteen Candles which despite my stupid rhyme schemes is pretty rad. High school wasn't that great (there are exceptions, duh) and the dreams about forgetting my locker combination have yet to cease. I'm pretty sure that if I had to go back and re-do high school right now, I'd still make the same mistakes and do all the same right things. Once a nerd, always a nerd. I just hope that in the John Hughes Universe, Sam and Jake are still togetha foreva (Rick Astley).

Oh - one last thing...I work with a real life Long Duk Dong. He makes work a lot more tolerable!

Moment of Silence

Can we please take a moment of silence to remember the poor pets that were poisoned to death by their own dog food?

My dad feeds his dogs the recalled food. As much as I don't like Donut or Nikki, there is a chance Dottie (see Thanksgiving 2006 - A Retrospective) could be sick and this upset me. If those bastards kill her I will be very, very mad. I also really don't want to have to kick some corporate ass but I will if needed.

(Not Dottie but rather my dream dog)

How Am I Doing So Far?

I DID IT!!!!!!!! I finally finished Life of Pi. I am totally kicking ass on my list of things to do this year. I have to say, I got through the last 30 pages faster than I did the 5 before them. I can't really say I recommend this book but if you like books that drag on and describe the killing of sea turtles in graphic detail, then this is the book for you. I admit that that flesh eating island was pretty cool. A whole book on that I'd totally read. I'd like to thank the Bibbs for letting me borrow this book.

So, what's next, you ask? Currently, White Teeth and Special Topics in Calamity Physics. I hope these don't take 6 months to finish.

2007 rulez.

Confessions

Way back in 1995, I saw a movie 7 times in theatres (this includes its run at the dollar theatre). The movie - The Brady Bunch Movie. Last night, Bravo showed this movie and it brough back the same feeling it did as the first time I saw it. I liked the show but the movie is on a completely different level for me. I'm pretty sure I still have my A Very Brady Sequel popcorn bag...

Anyways, I don't really have much else to say except that Entertainment Weekly cited this movie and Addams Family Values (another fav) as the 2 TV to Big Screen movies that worked.

And also, I still LOVE Christopher Daniel Barnes who played Greg. Fun Fact: CDB was also the voice of Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid and Prince Charming in the Cinderella sequels.

Don't be surprised if any of my children are named after the Brady clan or bunch. Whatever.

Also, someone please get me the Brady Bunch Movie 2 pack for my birthday. Thanks.

Serious Tanlines

I was greeted by snow and sleet when I got off the plane today. I miss Florida already.

I rode a Good Vibrations beach cruiser around the neighborhood everyday and played games with my Grandma and sister every night.

People here LOVE lawn and house decorations. A lot of the houses have nautical decorations such as seahorses, shells, birds, and dolphins. My favorite was one of a naked little boy riding a dolphin. I tried to take a picture but as soon as I rode up in the driveway, the garage door opened. I got the hell outta there.

Wet Hair Chic

I drove up to Philly Saturday to visit my BFF, Lindsey. First, me, Lindsey, and Ben went to the Asian Market to buy ingredients for sushi. I also spent $7 on assorted Asian cookies. We then ate the sushi and watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman (seriously). We then circled around Philly for at least a half hour, trying to find parking for soul night. Eventually we gave up and went to the 700 club. We didn't know it yet, but we were in for a treat.

The upstairs at the 700 club had the most wet curls and wet spiked hairdos I have seen since leaving Fredericksburg. The guy Lindsey is pointing at looked annoyed/bored when sing the choruses of Gin and Junice and I Just Wanna Love U, always raising his eyebrows. We should have gotten his digits. Speaking of digits, we were all unsuccessful in getting any. TOTAL BUMMER. The club was jumpin' for sure, despite the lame ass DJ. We then went home, watched MTV, Ben ordered me a cheese pizza and went to bed. All in all, it was a very successful trip!
